Cinque Birilli · Italian billiards and goriziana · last updated: 18 October 2026

This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.

This page explains, in simple terms, what personal data we collect when you sign up and play on 5birilli.it, why we use it, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights. It is the information notice required by Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Who the data controller is

The data controller is Digit Italy srls, registered office at Corso Diaz 25, Massa Marittima (GR), Italy, VAT number IT01567780539.
For any privacy question you can write to segreteria@digititaly.net.

2. What data we collect

Account dataUsername, email address, password (stored only in encrypted form, never in plain text), the date and time you accepted this notice and confirmed your email.
Game dataGames, shots and results, Elo rating and ranking, challenges and tournaments you take part in, progress in the Billiards Academy (lessons, exams and diplomas).
Technical access dataA session identifier (technical cookie) with its expiry, the type of browser (user agent) used to log in and the date of your last access. To protect the site from abuse the server counts, in memory and for a short time, login, sign-up and password-recovery attempts per IP address; these counts are not stored.
Cookie bannerFor every page you open, the service that manages the cookie banner (hosted at kiwi3.kiwiimmobiliare.it) receives your IP address and records anonymous visit counters (page address and title, referring page). If in future the banner appears and you make a choice, it also records an anonymous code, your choice, the page and the date (proof of consent), and the technical cookie kiwi_consenso stays in your browser for 6 months.
PreferencesGame settings (2D/3D view, sounds, level, discipline…) stay only in your browser and are not sent to us. The language you choose is remembered with the technical cookie lang and is used by the server only to show you the site and write your service emails in that language.

We do not collect special categories of data (such as health, opinions or beliefs) and we do not ask for your full name, address or phone number.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

Sending you service emails: address confirmation and password recoveryPerformance of the service (Art. 6.1.b). These messages are strictly related to your account: we do not send advertising or newsletters.

Complying with legal obligations and responding to lawful requests from authoritiesLegal obligation (Art. 6.1.c).

Providing a username, email and password is necessary to sign up: without them we cannot create the account. We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects on you. The Elo rating is only a sporting measure calculated from game results.

4. What other players can see

Choose a username that does not reveal your real name if you do not want to be recognisable.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or pass it to third parties for advertising purposes. The servers are located in Italy and data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.

6. Cookies and similar tools

We use only technical cookies: bsid, which keeps you logged in (it lasts at most 30 days, is restricted to the site, HttpOnly and HTTPS only, and is deleted when you log out), and lang, which remembers the language you chose (12 months). Technical cookies do not require consent. The site also saves some game preferences in your browser storage (these are not cookies and are not sent to us). We do not use profiling or analytics cookies. Details are in the cookie policy.

7. How long we keep data

Account and game dataAs long as you keep the account. You can delete the account yourself from your profile (“Delete the account”) or by writing to us: we immediately delete your email, password, sessions and progress (including the Billiards Academy) and anonymise your username. An account with games or tournaments in progress cannot be deleted: they must be finished or abandoned first. Games already finished remain without any link to you, so as not to alter opponents’ results and rankings.
Login sessionsUp to 30 days from the last activity, or until you log out or change your password.
Email confirmation links48 hours. The password change link is valid for 1 hour and can be used only once.
BackupsWe back up the database every night and keep the last 14: deleted data therefore also disappears from backups within 14 days.

8. Your rights

At any time you can:

To exercise them, write to segreteria@digititaly.net from the address you registered with: we will reply within one month. If you believe the processing breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

9. Minors

The service is intended for people aged at least 14. If you are younger, you need the consent of whoever holds parental responsibility to sign up. If you think a minor has signed up without authorisation, write to us and we will delete the account.

10. How we protect data

The site always uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored with a one-way hashing algorithm and cannot be read by anyone, not even by us. Access to the servers is restricted and protected, and we limit repeated login attempts. No system is 100% secure: if a breach occurs that puts your data at risk, we will inform you in the cases and manner required by law.

11. Consent form

The consent form (generic version, in Italian) is available here: Consent form.

12. Changes to this notice

If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes we will also notify you with a message on the site or by email.
